Construction:
Dovetail Drawers- The front and back corners of each drawer feature English dovetail joinery, which produces a drawer strong enough to withstand a lifetime of openings.
Solid Wood Tops & Side Panels- Solid wood tops and side panels are a signature of heirloom quality furniture. Every case piece made – whether a small media chest or a tall armoire – features only the best solid wood top and side panel construction.
Floating Spacer Balls- We place these rubber ball bearings inside the frames of all floating panels, which allow the panels to expand and contract naturally without causing warpage, splitting or rattling.
Corner Stability- Case furniture features reinforced wooden corner blocks to add strength to your furniture and prevent it from racking when handling or moving furniture.
Solid 5/8" Finished Drawers- Interiors finished with 2 coats of Catalyzed Conversion Varnish. Each drawer is sanded smooth providing a clean look and the ultimate protection for your clothing.
Smooth Glide System- Smooth operation and full access to the entire drawer is achieved by our fully extended Accuride ball-bearing glide system. Drawers are attached at the sides onto solid wood; no plastic or staples are used in our construction.
Framed, Fitted Back Panels- A wooden panel is framed and screwed into the back of each case for added strength and to eliminate racking. Pocket screws are used for easy access and removal of the floating top. Then we ad that extra step and completely finish the fitted back panel of each case piece in the same exact stain used on your masterpiece. At The Urban Collections, we do not take short cuts.
